REVIEW: Feeling This by Casey Blue

Synopsis

Whoever said life is hard didn’t know the half of it!

Completely devastated when his life is ripped out from underneath him, Jordan Rhodes decides to take a break. A break from everything he’s always known; the country club life-style, his life-long friends and his overbearing parents. He just wants to be free to get lost and not feel the pain he has endured.

Kimber Maguire has been dealt the tough card her entire life. An ailing mom, a sister who refuses to face reality and a yearning for the one that got away, she finds putting one foot in front of the other as her only saving grace. What she really wants is to be free of feeling the pressure that is her life, free to get lost.

But when Jordan finds Kimber while losing himself, they both discover, sometimes you just need to feel to be found.

My Thoughts

Jordan Rhodes comes from a rich family. He was brought up attending the country club and never wanted for anything in his life. While he was at college he met Susan. Susan was it for Jordan - the love of his life. When Susan dies suddenly, Jordan is devastated. Needing to get away and start anew, he leaves his life of privilege behind and lands himself in a small town.

Kimber McGuire is well known in her small town community. She has had a tough upbringing - her father was never around, her mother is sick, and her older sister took off as soon as things got too tough. Kimber attends classes at the local college and is working two jobs to cover the expenses. She also cares for her mother.

When Jordan and Kimber spot each other at the ranch where they both work, there is an instant attraction between them. As their relationship progresses, both Jordan and Kimber sense that the other is hiding something painful. Is their attraction able to withstand the secrets that each of them are keeping?

Feeling This is told from both Jordan and Kimber's view points. I enjoyed the story being written this way, as I was able to get inside both Jordan and Kimber's heads and really get to know them both.

I liked Casey's writing style. Although there was some serious subject matter, it was very well written and had hints of humour throughout. I felt connected to the characters instantly, and I felt that I was experiencing their happiness and sadness right along with them.

I really enjoyed this book, and I recommend that you give it a read yourself!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
